Air Malta to operate charter flights to UK regional airports

This summer Air Malta will resume charter flights to six regional airports in the UK. From the 1st May, Air Malta will operate weekly charter flights to Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Newcastle and Norwich Airports, running until 30th October. The charter operations to these airports will be in addition to the airline’s regular schedule services to London Heathrow, Gatwick and Manchester Airport.

Commenting on these services, Philip Saunders, Air Malta Chief Commercial Officer said, “These charter flights increase accessibility to Malta and Gozo from regional UK airports and therefore offer travellers the opportunity to reduce travelling time and costs. These services were made possible following the support received from the respective airports as well as from tour operators and travel trade partners in the area. These operations further confirm the airline’s commitment to boosting incoming tourism to Malta from the UK, which is Malta’s primary tourism market. We expect to carry around 48,000 passengers on these services.”

Air Malta offers full services on its charter flights including refreshments, 20Kgs for checked in baggage and up to 10Kgs as hand luggage allowance.
