To celebrate Air France’s 80th anniversary, Air France and Airbus have commissioned two Airbus carriers to be decorated with a specially designed 80th anniversary livery, taking the celebrations to new heights.
The Airbus A380, complete with its eye catching, bespoke livery, took off on from Paris-Charles de Gaulle for Johannesburg, South Africa after an unveiling to 200 Air France staff.
An Airbus A320 will also be flying with the livery for the full 80th anniversary year to celebrate.
“We have a very rich heritage, which we have built up over the years and which is a very strong competitive advantage.
“I am pleased that Airbus has chosen to take part in this event to sport the Air France 80th anniversary livery all over the world.
“It is also a great opportunity to share this anniversary with customers and staff,” declared Frédéric Gagey, chairman, Air France.
The Airbus A380 is already setting new standards for air transport and the environment.
In addition to offering unequalled levels of passenger comfort, space and quietness inside and outside the cabin, the Airbus A380 offers reduced emissions.
“We are particularly proud to be celebrating this 80th anniversary alongside Air France, illustrating the success of this major European airline.
“From its earliest days Air France has demonstrated its confidence in Airbus.
“Air France has operated the full range of Airbus aircraft, and will also be an operator of the latest generation A350 XWB in the coming years.
“We wish Air France all the best for a successful future,” said Fabrice Brégier, president, Airbus.
