Air Europa to sponsor ABTA Travel Convention 2011

Air Europa has been confirmed as a sponsorship of the annual ABTA Travel Convention, due take place October 3rd-5th 2011.

The Spanish airline, which specialises in flights to South America, is one of five headline sponsors of the industry event, alongside Cosmos Holidays, Fred Olsen Cruise Lines, Iberostar Hotels and Resorts and First Data Merchant Solutions.

Held for the fifth time in Air Europa’s home city of Palma de Mallorca, this year’s Travel Convention is set to be better than ever with over 1,000 members expected for talks from industry leaders, thought-provoking conference sessions and networking opportunities.

“We are proud to be a headline sponsor for the ABTA Convention, one of the most important events in the travel industry calendar.

“With it being staged in our home town of Palma, it made sense for us to have a strong presence this year,” said Colin Stewart, UK general manager, Air Europa.

“Air Europa already has a great relationship with ABTA and our sponsorship enables us to build on this.

“It is great to share the stage with such established industry names and spread the word about Air Europa at the same time.”

The three-day conference provides travel professionals with an invaluable chance to discuss the issues affecting the travel industry, especially after another challenging twelve months.

Despite the difficult economic climate, Air Europa has bucked the trend and continues to expand by adding to its long-haul destinations; earlier this month the first flights to Mexico City took off.
