Air Europa launches new Uruguay flight

Air Europa, the Latin America specialist, will link Montevideo and London three times weekly as of June 3rd with the opening of a new route.

Using an Airbus 330-200 aircraft with a capacity of 299 passengers, including 24 business class seats designed for maximum privacy and comfort, the route will be a gateway for UK leisure and business travellers to Uruguay´s capital and the fashionable coastal resorts Punta del Este and Jose Ignacio.

For UK travellers, the flight to Montevideo is planned to ensure quick connections from Gatwick departing at 17.15 on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays via Madrid, landing in Carrasco airport early the following morning.

The return flight from Montevideo will be at 11.45 every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.

“The new route to Uruguay, one of Latin America fastest growing tourist destinations, confirms once again our commitment to connecting our leisure and business passengers to the region,” said Colin Stewart, Air Europa general manager, UK.

“It was only in November that we launched flights to Santa Cruz, Bolivia, and now, with the Montevideo service we will serve six key markets in South America thus cementing our position as the Latin America specialist airline,” concluded Stewart.
