Accor announces new Mercure, between the sea and the mountains

Indeed, the brand has just opened two hotels in the country, one on the Mediterranean coast and the other in the high plateaux of the North.

In the historic centre of Burgos, the Rice Burgos has joined the Mercure brand.
Burgos, a city in northern Spain, situated at an altitude of 900 metres, is considered the cradle of Old Castile. An ideal destination for tourism adepts who visit the city for its cathedral classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, along with its museums and many religious edifices, most of which are located within easy walking distance of the hotel. With its 50 rooms, the Mercure Burgos Rice offers classic British décor and all the modern comfort of a 4-star hotel. Its privileged location and facilities for hosting events and meetings also make the Rice Burgos a hotel of choice for business travellers, who can also take advantage of the gastronomic food service offerings.

State-of-the-art sustainable seawater therapy

Another place, another atmosphere. The Mercure Thalasia Costa de Murcia has just opened its doors on the shores of the Mediterranean. The 4-star establishment, which is a franchised hotel, is located in the heart of San Pedro del Pinatar Nature Park. In addition to its 211 rooms, two restaurants, three bars, an outdoor swimming pool together with a solarium and 1,000 square metres of meeting space, the hotel offers one of Spain’s most modern, eco-friendly seawater therapy centres. Its spa area of more than 1,500 m² provides saltwater pools, Jacuzzis, fountains and cascades as well as physical therapy pools. All of the treatment products used at the spa are natural and environmentally friendly. The hotel has furthermore introduced a particularly efficient energy savings system enabling the reduction of 60% of its CO2 emissions.
This array of ingredients is designed to guarantee visitors a flawless moment of relaxation, which can be delightfully enhanced by a meal at the restaurant La Sal, featuring renowned seafood specialties.

Mercure in Spain: a growing network

Present until now in the Spanish capital with the hotels Mercure Madrid Plaza de España and Mercure Madrid Santo Domingo and in San Sebastian with the Mercure Monteigueldo en San Sebastián, Mercure is pursuing its expansion in this Mediterranean country, particularly through franchising. A logical growth strategy for the brand, which now boasts more than 700, addresses in 50 countries and enjoys strong recognition among customers as well as investors.
