Abu Dhabi visitors climb

Visitors figures to Abu Dhabi have climbed ten per cent in the first five months of 2011 while hotel revenues have increased by six per cent, according a report in Reuters.

The Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority revealed that hotels in the capital of the UAE received 866,501 guests in the first five months of 2011.

Revenues rose to Dhs1.9bn despite falling room rates, while the average hotel occupancy rate climbed to 71 per cent of capacity.
