Abacus SmartPrice reaches net fares milestone

Abacus SmartPrice reaches net fares milestone

Abacus International, Asia’s leading provider of travel solutions and services, now offers access to more than five million origin and destination net fares with Abacus SmartPrice.

The number of net fares, which grew 30 per cent year-on-year, is testament to the increasingly competitive state of the travel industry today, said Abacus earlier.

More than 900 airlines and wholesalers are providing net fares with Abacus to address the rising demand for lower fares content by travel agents, as well as drive greater competitiveness beyond publicly filed ATPCO and SITA fares.

Abacus vice president, Marketing, Brett Henry, credits the sharp increase in the Abacus net fares offering to Abacus’ on-going commitment to agents, who in turn can provide the best available fares to travellers.

Abacus boasts the most extensive fare content access, with some airlines having up to 80 per cent of their fares ticketed using net fares content.

“Abacus SmartPrice is an obvious choice in shopping for the lowest fares for travel agents,” said Henry.

“We recognise the constant demand amongst travel players for information on both the lowest fares as well as a wide range of fare options, and the integrated content with net fares will help them do this more efficiently.

“Net fares are playing an increasingly important role in the Asia Pacific travel landscape, and this is evidenced by a high penetration rate of net fares content of up to 60 per cent in some markets.

“Abacus SmartPrice integrates all published, corporate and net fare content into a single workspace screen to ensure agents have quick and easy access to the most cost-effective fares for the traveller,” Henry stated.
