A grand lift off for Langham Place Beijing Capital Airport

It’s lift-off for Langham Place, Beijing Capital International Airport as the hotel celebrated its grand opening on the 28 October, 2010. The cutting-edge five-star hotel beside Sir Norman Foster’s iconic Terminal 3 has revolutionised the way we see airport accommodation and established itself as the world’s first ‘lifestyle airport hotel’.

Featuring DJs in the lobby, loft style apartment rooms and a stimulating 24-hour high-tech environment for work and play, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport has not only created a convenient stopover hotel but one of the most fun places to be in the Chinese capital. Where else can you play arcade games as you rock out to the DJ in the lobby, catch up on emails over a glass of Champagne in the 24-hour PORTAL ‘Work & Play’ bar and internet hub, or get a dose of local culture at the all-hours Art Gallery?

Since opening its doors to guests in Semaptember, Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport has been in hot demand for corporate meetings, parties and wedding celebrations. It has hosted many top executives and leisure guests, including the President of Fiji, Hon. Ratu Epeli Nailatikau, in its stylish and spacious suites. Contemporary Chinese restaurant Ming Court and gastro-pub Fuel are also making their mark on Beijing’s dining scene.

Langham Place, Beijing Capital Airport’s Grand Opening was celebrated with signature Langham flourishes. An evening cocktail soiree and gala dinner featured pink angels, human statues and dancers, Splash paint performances and a live jazz band. Key executives of Langham Hotels International and the Capital Airport Holding Company were also present to congratulate and inaugurate the hotel, including Mr. Dong Zhiyi, General Manager of Capital Airport Holding Company; Dr KS Lo, Executive Chairman of Langham Hotels International; Mr. Brett Butcher, CEO of Langham Hotels International; and Ms. Sherona Shng, Vice President Communications of Langham Hotels International.

“An airport hotel is probably one of the best advertising billboards for a growing brand. Our presence at the gateway to the world’s largest nation speaks volumes about the dynamic, cutting-edge character of the Langham Place brand,” said Brett Butcher, CEO of Langham Hotels International.

“As you touch down in China’s capital, our vibrant gateway hotel is here to welcome you with a fun, stimulating and cultured Beijing experience that will simply blow you away,” said Mark Francis, General Manager of Langham Place, Beijing Capital International Airport.
