easyJet will operate three new routes from London Luton Airport including Stockholm, with the Swedish Capital becoming a new country for easyJet from the UK. Also joining easyJet’s line up of destinations from the airport is the Greek island of Rhodes and French surf favourite, Biarritz. On sale now, the routes will be bookable via the app and website with the first flights taking off from March next year.

The secretary general of the United Nations World Tourism Organisation, Taleb Rifai, has congratulated St Petersburg on its recent success at the World Travel Awards. The Russian cultural hotspot was recognised with the title of World's Leading Cultural City Destination by voters at the World Travel Awards during the Grand Final Gala Ceremony in the Maldives earlier this month. The title is in addition to that of Europe’s Leading Destination, which St Petersburg won for the second year in succession in September.

The Scottish government has confirmed plans to halve Air Passenger Duty by the end of the current Scottish Parliament in 2021. Willie Walsh, IAG chief executive, welcomed the move.
