Fireworks

The opening of the Waldorf Astoria Dubai Palm Jumeirah will just be one of the celebrations taking place in Dubai over the New Year’s Eve period, with the emirate also building up for an attempt at the world record for the largest ever firework display.

Skies over the luxury destination will come alive with a six-minute display choreographed across the whole of The Palm Jumeirah and the islands of The World.

The show will cover 99.4 kilometres of seafront and feature 450,000 fireworks in 400 locations.

The world record attempt will conclude with a 15-minute display covering a one-kilometre stretch of the Jumeirah beach, with the Waldorf Astoria looking on.
