Travel Massive Crete Marks Good Friday with a Culture-Inspired Summit in Argyroupoli

Travel Massive Crete, in collaboration with the Cultural Association of Argyroupoli, the Parish of Argyroupoli, the Cretan Gastronomy Center, and the Municipality of Rethymno, will host a culture-inspired summit to mark the Orthodox Good Friday: “Traditions: Powerful Tools for Rural Tourism Development.” Participation is free.

Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Argyroupoli Cultural Association, participants will attend a conference, in fact a brainstorming event with public involvement. The talks will focus on cultural tourism development and promotion. Some of the themes include:

“The Case of Enagron Ecotourism Village,” presented by Anastasia Chatziioannou, Project Manager at EyeWide Digital Marketing Agency
“Linking Tourism Consumption to Domestic Products,” presented by Dr. Hatzimarinakis Stavros from the Laboratory of Research and Tourism Satellite Accounts (LaReTSA), University of Patras.
“Cultural Appeal: How to Dazzle Travelers with Heritage Values,” by Mihaela Lica Butler, Award-winning travel writer, Founder and Principal Partner at Pamil Visions Travel PR
“Experiential Tourism in Rural Areas: Sustainable Tourism Products that Amaze the Travelers and Benefit the Community,” presented by Anula Galewska, Business Manager at Urban Adventures and a Co-Founder of Travindy sustainable tourism news portal.

During the conference, participants will sample local produce and learn about the history and traditions of Argyroupoli.

Friday, April 6, 2018, summit participants are invited to join the locals to mark this holy Orthodox day with the candles of Good Friday, the procession of the Epitaph and the mass of Good Friday, as well as traditional fasting Cretan dishes, prepared by the village women under the guidance of professional chefs and the Cretan Center of Gastronomy.
