The Finest Spa Resorts in Cuba

There are many things that come to my mind when thinking of Cuba, from music, dancing and cigars to lavish architecture and streets filled with vintage cars. This list should include the many top-class spa resorts that can be found in Cuba. Most of these are located on the island’s coast and include beach access.

Paradisus Varadero
Varadero is a resort town to the east of Havana, lying on a long peninsula. At the end of the peninsula is the Hicacos Point Natural Park, an ecological reserve containing wildlife, caves and lakes. Paradisus Varadero eco-resort is located within the nature reserve, in the Rincon Frances area. The hotel is run by Melia Hotels International. It has a YHI spa, where guests can enjoy outdoor hydro massage with sea views, Balinese, jet, Scottish or drizzle showers, sauna, steam bath and many other spa facilities including mud therapy and massages. Paradisus Varadero has 510 rooms and 9 restaurants which serve both Cuban and international cuisine. There are two outdoor pools, surrounded by greenery, and the hotel has access to Varadero Beach, with a 1.5 km long stretch of white sand

Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort
Run by the same hotel group, the Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort Spa lies in Holguin, in the Bahia de Naranjo Natural Park. It is an adults-only resort, meaning that you can make your holidays in Cuba more exciting by going there with your friends, knowing that it will offer a level of sophistication not always found at family resorts. The Paradisus Rio de Oro Resort Spa was voted one of the top twenty-five all-inclusive resorts in the Caribbean, and one of the top ten hotels for Romance in the Caribbean. The Aquas de Ora Spa offers a range of treatments, including hydro-thermal steam baths, Balinese baths, sauna and whirlpool and backs onto the white sands of Playa Esmeralda Beach.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria
The Royalton Cayo Santa Maria lies on a tiny island off the north coast of Cuba, in the archipelago. Surrounded by coral reefs, sea turtles and other marine life, the island is part of a UNESCO Biosphere reserve and is connected to the mainland by a 48 kilometre causeway. Royalton Cayo Santa Maria is an all-inclusive adults-only resort with a luxurious, beach-side spa.
These are just a few of the many spa resorts that you can visit on this beautiful island. Apart from the top-class treatments and spa facilities, the island also offers visitors many other healthy experiences that tourist will surely enjoy. It has some of the best snorkeling and diving in the world, with beautiful coral reefs, amazing coves and dive sites that are home to underwater treasures and tropical marine life. Walkers can also enjoy hiking in the many hillside trails, or bicycles can be hired to explore the back roads away from the city. Whatever you choose to do, returning to a spa resort at the end of the day will definitely refresh and relax any visitor to Cuba.
