TAP cements position as leading Portugal-UK carrier

TAP cements position as leading Portugal-UK carrier

TAP Portugal, already a leading airline to Portugal from the UK, travelling to numerous destinations within Europe and beyond, has further expanded its services.

The Portuguese flag-carrier confirmed earlier it would increase the frequency of its Manchester to Lisbon service, offering ten flights a week.

The service, which delivers UK travellers to the Portuguese capital, currently runs seven flights per week.

Lisbon’s delightful atmosphere, complete with stunning architecture, traditional shops, restaurants, bars, an array of shopping choices and buzzing nightlife, has made the city increasingly popular for weekend breaks with British holidaymakers.

With TAP, Lisbon’s scenery, gastronomy and culture will now be within even easier reach for UK travellers to enjoy a sun-filled escape.

The increased offering further cements TAP’s status as the main carrier between Portugal and the UK, now offering 80 flights a week to the country in total.

The carrier also offers up to seven flights daily to Portugal out of Heathrow, while serving both Lisbon and Funchal each day from Gatwick.

The carrier – recognised as the World’s Leading Airline to South America by the World Travel Awards - also offers two flights daily from Gatwick to Porto.

But UK services are just the tip of the iceberg for TAP, with the carrier also offering departures to a total of 75 destinations in 35 countries worldwide, including 45 European destinations, from its hub in Lisbon.

These include direct flights between Lisbon and ten destinations within Brazil.

Not only does TAP offer an extensive range of destinations, but it also makes excellent onward connections throughout Brazil with Star Alliance partner TAM.

Economy class passengers can expect many perks often reserved for first class passengers.

Pre-assigned seats, complimentary meals and drinks, and 23kg of baggage allowance are just a few of the services TAP offers to ensure passengers have a stress free and enjoyable flight experience.

Business class passengers are offered dedicated check-in desks, priority boarding and disembarkation, online and mobile phone check-in, and a total baggage allowance of two pieces at 32 kg each.
