Starwood shines bright at World Travel Awards

The Westin Grand Cape Town has taken the title of “Africa’s Leading Meetings and Conference Hotel” at the 2010 World Travel Awards Ceremony, whilst Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa walked away with the awards for “Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel”, “Africa’s Leading Spa Resort” and “South Africa’s Leading Spa Resort”.

Hailed as the Oscars of the travel industry, the World Travel Awards is one of the most prestigious and comprehensive awards programmes for the travel business.

The event has been running for seventeen years and has recognised success and achievements in all the regions of the world covering all sectors of the global travel, tourism and hospitality industry. Winners are selected through a voting campaign that sees the participation of approximately 167 000 travel professionals from around the globe.

The Westin Grand won South Africa’s Leading Business Hotel at the World Travel Awards Ceremony 2008. Arabella Western Cape Hotel & Spa won Africa’s Leading Luxury Hotel at 2009 World Travel Awards and “Africa’s Leading Family Resort” in 2008.
