Fuchs steps up at with Jumeirah at Etihad Towers as Greif departs Stefan Fuchs will take up the role of general manager at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in October

Doris Greif, currently general manager of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers in Abu Dhabi, has been appointed to the role of regional vice president Europe as well as general manager of Jumeirah Frankfurt.

Her role in Abu Dhabi will be assumed by the current hotel manager, Stefan Fuchs.

A German national, Greif first joined Jumeirah in 1999 and since then has successfully undertaken a number of senior roles in the company including executive assistant manager in charge of rooms at Jumeirah Beach Hotel, general manager Jumeirah Beach Club Resort & Spa, general manager operations and general manager Jumeirah Emirates Towers.

She left the company in 2008 to take on the role of chief operating officer - city operations at DIFC Investments before re-joining Jumeirah in 2010 to become general manager of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers where she has successfully led operations at the Jumeirah Group’s award-winning property in Abu Dhabi.

Greif’s leadership of the property has been credited with guiding Jumeirah at Etihad Towers from its opening to the respected position it holds today.

Under her guidance the property was recognised as World’s Leading New Hotel by World Travel Awards in 2011, just months after opening, while it has since gone on to win numerous other high profile awards.

This success has been recognised by Jumeirah, with Greif promoted within the fast growing Jumeirah Group, given responsibility for the fast growing European markets.

Greif, who takes up her new role on October 1st 2014, leaves Abu Dhabi with her reputation much enhanced following a successful spell at one of the most exciting hotels in the region.

Following the move, fellow German national Stefan Fuchs will take over leadership of Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.

Fuchs first joined Jumeirah in 2006, working at Madinat Jumeirah in Dubai for three years as director of food and beverage.

He re-joined the company in 2010 as hotel manager at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers to assist with the pre-opening of the hotel.

Stefan’s previous industry experience spans over 15 years working for well-known brands such as Ritz-Carlton and Kempinski Hotels.

His international experience has been gained from working in Europe, the Middle East and Russia where he held senior roles in operations, food and beverage, catering and conference services and his most recent position as hotel manager at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers.

The first Jumeirah hotel to open in the progressive, sophisticated, international emirate of Abu Dhabi, Jumeirah at Etihad Towers opened in late 2011.

It was developed under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan’s Projects Department, and has come to be recognised as an icon of the Middle East.

The 280 metre tall luxury hotel is one of five towers at the iconic beachfront project, which also includes a prestigious office tower and three towers housing 885 apartments.

A connecting four-level Podium features contemporary restaurants and over 30 premium boutiques.

Under the leadership of the departing Doris Greif the property was able to host a series of world beating events.

Breaking Travel News visited in 2013 for the World Travel & Tourism Council Global Summit, while World Luxury Fashion Week also visited in 2012. 

These events catapulted the property to the next level of global tourism, allowing Jumeirah at Etihad Towers to claim a clutch of awards.

Alongside the title of World’s Leading Hotel, presented by the World Travel Awards in 2011, the property went on to claim the title of World’s Leading Conference Hotel in 2013.

Again in 2014 the property took the title of Middle East’s Leading Hotel, with the property moving forward to the World Travel Awards Grand Final, due to take place in Morocco at the end of the year.

The landmark hotel itself compromises of 382 rooms and suites, 199 serviced residences, exceptional leisure activities, unique venues for social events, and outstanding conference and meeting facilities.

All rooms offer stunning sea views and range from 40 sqm to 60 sqm in floor area with the latest fully integrated lifestyle technology.

Of particular interest is the unique Royal Etihad Suite, located on Level 60.

The 199 fully-serviced residences located on Levels 2 – 25, vary from studios of 57 sqm to spacious one, two and three bedroom apartments of up to 170 sqm.

The dramatic sculptural forms of the towers compliment the sophisticated and contemporary interior design, with a cultural edge.

Art works from His Highness Sheikh Suroor bin Mohammed Al Nahyan’s private collection provide a local Arabian touch in public areas and conference pre-function areas.

Also at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers, the Club Executive Lounge elevates executive privileges to the highest standard, allowing guests to work in their own time and space whatever their priorities may be.

The Club Executive Lounge located on Level 45 offers guests an extensive breakfast and light snacks including hors d’oeuvres, desserts and complimentary beverages throughout the day and evening.

This 24 hour prestigious lounge comprises of shower suites and changing rooms, an internet lounge, a business centre with four meeting rooms all equipped with state-of-the-art technology, video conferencing facilities and high speed internet connectivity.

The Talise Spa at Jumeirah at Etihad Towers is located on Podium Level 3M and is comprised of 13 private treatment suites.

These include a Rasoul suite (traditional Middle Eastern method of cleansing and detoxifying, using mud, herb-scented steam and an oil-infused warm shower) and the Hammam suite (a traditional heated marble goebektas bed, private steam and sauna room combining exposure to different temperatures, invigorating body exfoliation, steam immersion and rejuvenating massage).

The state of the art 6P Gym is equipped with TechnoGym equipment and is located on Podium Level 3M, next to Talise Spa.

The private beach and a landscaped oasis of pools and gardens provide a tranquil space, while Etihad Towers also houses a selection of high end shopping with over 30 premium boutiques located in the Podium.

But it is now all about play at Jumeirah at Etihad Tower, with extensive conference & banqueting facilities are provided through the hotel’s purpose built Conference Centre, located on Podium Level 4.

The Conference Centre is among the largest in Abu Dhabi and features 13 meeting rooms and the stunning Mezzoon ballroom. Mezzoon can comfortably accommodate up to 1,400 guests for a conference or 1,000 guests for dinner, and can be divided into four separate sections.

The centre also offers spacious pre-function areas as well as a green room and business centre facilities. One of the unique elements of the ballroom is a special service elevator with the capacity to lift cars.
