Cool summer ahead at the Amwaj Rotana Dubai
The Amwaj Rotana is located on The Walk at Jumeirah Beach Residence in one of the trendiest locales in Dubai and just a stones through away from the beach. The check-in on a busy Friday afternoon was smooth and swift, despite not having with me the regulatory ID. A drivers licence is now no longer valid as quests are required to have either a passport or Emirates ID, as per local regulations.
I was at the Amwaj to ‘test drive’ the brunch, which during the hot summer months takes place indoors at both Benihana’s and Rosso’s - a bar, enoteca and ristorante. At the time of my stay the brunch took place on the delightful terrace, close to the pool. Indoors or out, the range of the cuisine offered by the two restaurants is wonderfully wide and delicious.
The pool is very much the focus during the hot summer months, where quests can languish in the temperature controlled water and view the rapidly developing Bluewater Island whilst supping a cool refreshing beverage or two.
The suite proffered on this occasion had similar view of Bluewater which will eventually form a destination in itself - a man made island just off the coastline of opposite the Jumeirah Beach Residence’s. The suite had a good size balcony from which to observe the island and the sun dipping down, below the horizon.
The suite itself, was ample in size and one nice feature is the tea and coffee making facility which is rapidly disappearing from many hotel chains. Another good feature was found outside the rooms - a bench seat opposite the lifts, or if you prefer, the elevators. A practice which could well be adopted by the many business towers of Dubai.
Breakfast was served in the Horizon, the all day dining restaurant and offered a stunning array of dishes - enough to make this an ‘all day breakfast’ restaurant, such was the choice of cuisine.
With summer rates and special offers taking place the Amwaj Rotana provides the basis of a good ‘stayaway vacation’ for residents of the emirates and also for those guests from further afield.
