Bulgarian municipalities Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad and Stambolovo invite you to cultural tourism in the spring
Unique tourist package is developed and is now offered by the Bulgarian municipalities Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad and Stambolovo. They are located in southeastern Bulgaria, with an administrative center of Haskovo district and are part of the Eastern Rhodopes mountain, which is one of the most picturesque in the Balkans.
“Spring in Haskovo District” is the name of the tourist product which is provided in March - June. It includes a variety of cultural events that reveal bits of the Bulgarians from this part of Europe. To experience the cultural life in Haskovo, Dimitrovgrad and Stambolovo a tourism program of three days or more for each of the events could be followed. And there are many events in the spring months, which are among the most favorable as climatic conditions in Europe.
The National Competition for Debut Literature “Southern Spring”, held in April, the National Folk Festival “Lovely Thrace Sings and Dances” in May and the Theatre Festival in June or May are some of the possibilities for cultural tourism in the municipality of Haskovo in the spring. In the same months Dimitrovgrad and Stambolovo host regional fairs and festivals of cultural and art centers, allowing foreign tourists to experience the distinctive Bulgarian spirit.
The new type of tourism in the southeastern parts of Bulgaria in the spring is a reality thanks to the Operational Programme “Regional Development” 2007-2013 and the project “Development of regional tourist product: Haskovo - Dimitrovgrad - Stambolovo”, financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria.
