The Caribbean Tourism Organization has released its tourist figures for the first quarter, showing wide differences across the region. Cuba experienced double-digit growth compared to the same period last year (up 15.2%), as did Jamaica (up 10.1%). The Cayman Islands registered 9.5% growth for the same period. St. Lucia was third with 9.4% growth while Antigua & Barbuda saw an 8.7% increase.

At the other end of the scale, Guyana showed an almost 26% drop between January and May this year. March and April were especially bad months, with data showing a 50 and 35% drop, respectively. January saw a dip by 13% while a 18.1% drop was registered in May.
