The luxury stakes are set to go one notch higher in Mauritius when The Grand Mauritian, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa, opens its doors to the public this July.
Located on the North-West coast of the island on Turtle Bay, the new property, made up of 193 ocean view rooms and suites, has been designed to offer guests a true taste of contemporary Mauritius, combining locally inspired architecture and design with sophisticated five-star standards.
Highlights include a 1,500sqm Mandara Spa comprising eleven treatment rooms; the largest swimming pool on the island and the first Video on Demand TV system in Mauritius.
Experiences as varied as hiring the entire white sandy beach for a dinner for two, to chartering a boat for a child’s first family fishing trip can be easily arranged thanks to the resort’s attentive butler and concierge service. All guest rooms offer spectacular views of the sea and marine park, whilst private terraces and tropical outdoor showers are also available in some of the suites.
